About Jessica Hill
Jessica Hill is a photographer and photo editor in Connecticut. She is the daughter of a photographer and had the privilege to spend her most formative years coloring with art directors in her coloring books, mixing film fixer in the darkroom for dad, and breaking down countless studio setups. After high school she took time off before earning her undergraduate degree to work full time for her father at his studio in Hartford. She then ventured westward to college, graduating cum laude with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Visual Arts from the University of New Mexico.
Jessica returned to Connecticut, writing and photographing for a chain of weekly newspapers. Within a year, she began freelancing for larger papers in the region. Learning the ropes of the daily newspaper business, she found her way to a staff position as photo editor at the Journal Inquirer, a mid-size afternoon daily newspaper. In 2003, Jessica signed on as a contract photographer with Associated Press and has been working for them regularly ever since.
Jessica's photographs have received state, regional, and national honors. Her work has been published in Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, The New York Times, and many other national and international publications.
Jessica is available for photography and photo editing projects in Connecticut in Western Massachusetts.
